Message from the Chair

Greetings to all members,  

The new Gold Coast Branch Committee is this year larger than in previous years. It is encouraging to have so many people step forward who are willing to offer a contribution to their profession in this way and as Chair I would like to thanks the members of the new committee for their interest and support. 

Our first event of the year was a presentation to the membership of information gleaned from the Branch Chairs Meeting in February. The presentation included the implications for psychologists of the new National Registration Scheme and the APS accommodations to this already underway and those planned for the future. The meeting was very well attended (a reflection of the interest in the topic no doubt) and this provided a good opportunity for peer social/networking following the presentation. 

Other events planned for this year include a social/fun trivia night, a Case Conceptualisation Forum, a trauma treatment workshop, a guest speaker evening and an event to be held during National Psychology week.

I look forward to meeting with our membership over the next two years.
