A number of organisations involved in stroke have come together, led by the Stroke Society of Australasia and the National Stroke Foundation, to improve advocacy for people affected by stroke at the national and state level. The coalition is planning to identify priorities for stroke care, improve co-ordination between relevant organisations, and develop a strategy and iniatives to support the improvement of stroke services. The RPIG will be working with other units within the APS in highlighting the psychological needs of people affected by stroke. We are keen to hear from psychologists working in the area of stroke (please e-mail Kathryn Nicholson Perry), and will disseminate any information or requests for information forthcoming from the coalition to members.
