Prizes and Awards

Every year, the National Executive of the College of Counselling Psychologists awards three prizes for outstanding accomplishments in the area of counselling psychology.

The first is an Award of Distinction that recognises the importance of significant contributions by a senior Member or Academic Member of the College, to the College and to in the specialist field of that College. Click here for a list of recipients.

The remaining two awards are for theses written as part of a doctoral or masters degree.

The Susanna Richardson Award (best Masters Thesis) promotes the conduct of scientific research relevant to practice issues and the dissemination of research findings to the community of counseling psychologists by acknowledging the overall best student completing an APAC-accredited Master of Counselling Psychology program in an Australian tertiary institution. The College of Counselling Psychologists Doctoral Award promotes the conduct of scientific research relevant to practice issues and the dissemination of research findings to the community of counseling psychologists practitioners by acknowledging the overall best student completing an APAC-accredited doctoral program in Counselling Psychology at an Australian tertiary institution. The College reserves the right not to make an award if no suitable candidate is nominated.
