About Us

Terms of Reference

1.      To provide a professional resource to the APS and its members, on matters related to EMDR therapy.

2.      To provide ongoing professional development opportunities through advanced EMDR Therapy trainings, both face-to-face and via webinar

3.      To connect and support APS EMDR and Psychology Interest Group members across Australia by establishing and supporting EMDR Peer Groups, both face-to-face and online.


As at the 08/04/2017, we currently have 353 members, including 8 student members:

 Terms of Reference

  1. To provide a network within the APS dedicated to establishing, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of excellence and integrity in EMDR practice, research and education.
  2. To provide a forum for discussion, peer contact, peer support and information sharing.
  3. To promote the awareness of EMDR as evidence based practice for traumatic stress disorders.
  4. To encourage local research and collaboration with other countries in the application of EMDR to various client populations.
  5. To further the contribution of EMDR to the discipline of psychology by the dissemination of up to date international research and contributions from international conferences.
