APS Interest Groups support members with special interests, assist communication between members interested in similar fields and advise the APS on issues related to their area of interest. Interest Group membership is open to all APS members and Interest group committee members are volunteer roles.

Dr James Morandini is a clinical psychologist and adjunct researcher @ The University of Sydney whose clinical and research work focuses on matters related to gender identity and sexuality. He is currently Clinical Lead at The Gender Centre (www.gendercentre.org.au) Psychology Service, and founded King Street Psychology Clinic (www.kingstreetpsychologyclinic.com.au) to provide evidence-based psychological services for those who experience gender dysphoria, sexual orientation-related mental health struggles, and sexual disorders.
Dr Morandini has published widely on sexuality/gender in academic journals (https://scholar.google.com.au/citations?user=lJF4kmQAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao), has lectured on undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programs, and provides clinical supervision on these issues to clinical psychologists and other health professionals in Australia and abroad.
He takes an evidence-based and holistic approach to matters of gender/sexuality, that is respectful and rigorous

Ms Alice Rose
Alice Rose is an interdisciplinary academic researcher based at the University of South Australia and an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society’s College of Clinical Psychologists. Her broad interests relate to the social, cultural and structural determinants of mental health and the integration of sociological theories and psychological research to improve outcomes for marginalised populations. Alice collaborates with researchers and organisations, including leading a Community of Practice for LGBTIQA+ Teaching and Learning. Alice has won multiple academic and national awards for her inclusive methodology, qualitative research and conference presentations and recently contributed her expertise on gender and intersectional aspects of workplace harassment to the Australian Human Rights Commission's Set the Standard: Report on the Inquiry into Commonwealth Parliamentary Workplaces.

Clare Billings (she/they) is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked in a variety of public and private sector roles with children, adolescents and adults and has always had a special interest in helping the sex-, gender- and relationship-diverse communities. Clare has created and provided professional development to psychologists and other health professionals about the unique needs of these communities, so as to improve practitioner competence and confidence and improve the experience of clients accessing health services.

Mr Rainer Jardin

Rainer Jardin is a Clinical Psychologist with an interest in examining and providing psychological intervention to address the adverse impacts of minority stress and social trauma, for people who have experienced stigmatisation due to factors such as gender non-conformity, sexual orientation, neurodivergence (e.g., Autism), race, socioeconomic status etc. Rainer has worked in private and public sector roles, including within hospitals and NGOs. This work has included the development and delivery of training packages, as well as clinical supervision, to assist with the provision of supportive, evidence-based services for people with diverse genders/sexualities. Rainer is currently based in private practice. He is presently focussed on the application of Schema Therapy to ameliorate schemas associated with minority stress (e.g., Social Exclusion, Defectiveness/Shame), as well as best assisting Autistic people with diverse genders/sexualities.

As part of my training, I am completing a placement at the Gender Centre Inc., which is where I have been able to apply evidence-based practices to assist people experiencing gender dysphoria and other kinds of distress to thrive and be their authentic selves.
