Welcome to the Brisbane Area Branch

This branch has more than 2300 members and covers the region north to Caboolture, west to Ipswich and south to Beenleigh, including regions with the following postcodes:

Members outside of these regions can request to receive communications from the branch. 

The executive committee of the branch are local psychologists who volunteer their time.  As a group, they aim to support the community of APS psychologists in the local area, recognising the diversity of the membership and that the strength of the APS is in its membership. 

Activities of the branch include disseminating information to members; promoting the discipline and profession of psychology; coordinating professional development and networking opportunities; coordinating events and services for members; and responding to queries from the public, media, and students.

Branch Meetings

There is a general members' meeting on the first Wednesday evening of every second month.  All members are welcome to attend. Meeting details are available on the branch home page.

Meetings usually open at 6.15 for a prompt 6.30pm start. Members will be sent an email confirming date, time and location of the meeting. General meetings typically include a guest speaker.

Please note that REGISTRATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL to assist with event coordination (please check the events calendar or branch website for registration details). 

The branch also holds executive committee meetings which tend to focus on administration matters.  All members are welcome to attend.  Please contact the branch to be advised of these meeting dates and details.
