Buddhism and Psychology

About Us

The APS Buddhism and Psychology Interest Group was formed to foster exploration and engagement of the therapeutic possibilities that Buddhism offers. Therapists, students and interested individuals are invited to participate in workshops and forums to learn, share and enhance their knowledge and application of Buddhist wisdom in life and work.

We strive to provide:

  1. Ongoing professional development (PD) and education regarding the application of Buddhist wisdom practices and their relevance to psychology and healing.
  2. Peer supervision (a professional requirement for psychologists) in the application of Buddhist principles on psychological practice.
  3. A resource to the general public and psychologists who are not members of the APS.
  4. Information to the APS regarding the value and application of Buddhist principles to psychology.
  5. Cross-fertilisation of ideas and learning about Buddhist Psychology.

APS members can join BPIG by logging in to Manage Your Membership and subscribe online. Members needing to pay by cheque can complete the application form here.
