Social/networking functions

Welcome Reception

Delegates are warmly invited to attend the welcome cocktail reception where you will be able to mix with other psychologists and practitioners in a friendly and relaxed environment and catch up with old friends and colleagues and make new acquaintances whilst enjoying canapés and drinks.

Venue:  Terrace Area, Level 1, The Outrigger Little Hastings Street, Noosa 
Dress:  Smart casual is recommended for this function 
Cost:  The Welcome Reception is included in the registration fee for all full conference delegates (not workshop only attendees or day registration). Additional tickets can be purchased at $60 each. 

 

Conference Dinner

Conference delegates are invited to attend and bring a partner/guest to the dinner so everyone can enjoy the social highlight of the Forensic 2011 Conference. All tickets are subject to availability at a cost of $130 each and must be purchased prior to the conference.

Conference dinner speaker: John Cunnington

John Cunnington grew up in the Brisbane suburb of Graceville. He was conscripted into the Australian army in 1967 and served one year in Vietnam with an infantry battalion.  Following discharge he drifted through a number of occupations including public servant, hotel proprietor, insurance consultant commonwealth police officer and finance company manager. He joined the Queensland Probation and Parole Service in the mid 1970s where, for twenty-five years, he maintained a number of positions, mainly in a field management role. During his correctional career he was the senior probation officer in Wide Bay and the central Queensland Regions, the initial parole advisory committee chairman and area manager of the Caboolture Community Corrections Office. During a brief stint away from corrections he lectured in human relations at the Queensland Police Academy and was coordinator of the corrections stream for the Justice Faculty at QUT. John holds an arts degree in sociology and psychology and a graduate diploma in teaching.He now follows his interest in writing. His latest novel, The Thirteenth Secret, set within the Queensland Justice System of the 1980s, was released in November 2010. The sequel is currently being written.

Cost:  The conference dinner is an optional extra and is not included in the conference registration fee. Tickets cost $130 and this includes canapés and three course meal along with a selection of wines, beer and soft drinks. An engaging high profile dinner speaker and local entertainment has been organised for the evening.

Parking:  Limited free parking is available at the conference venue 

 

Farewell Drinks

Date:  Saturday, 6 August 2011 
Time:  6.30pm - 7pm 
Venue:  Terrace Area, Level 1, The Outrigger Little Hastings Street, Noosa 
Dress:  Smart casual 
Cost:  The farewell drinks are included in the registration fee and are a terrific opportunity to farewell colleagues and new friends. Tickets for guests/partners are available at $25 and must be purchased prior to the conference. 

       

Networking Dinner

Delegates are invited to attend this optional networking function where you will be able to use this opportunity to mix with your fellow delegates over an informal poolside BBQ buffet.

This is a new initiative/event for the Forensic 2011 conference and a wonderful opportunity to meet other psychologists and make new acquaintances especially if you are attending the Forensic conference on your own. The atmosphere and environment will be very friendly and relaxed whilst enjoying a delicious meal.

Tickets must be purchased prior to the conference during the registration process (there will be limited availability for this function). A cash bar will be available for delegates to purchase their drinks at the function at their own cost during the evening.
