Updated April 2016
Since 2010, the Generic Rules for APS Colleges have moved to align with the registration standard for area of practice endorsement under the national registration scheme. These changes ensure that eligibility criteria for APS College membership are commensurate with those for area of practice endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
Transition arrangements - only applicable in particular circumstances
The APS College rules reflect the transition arrangements that were put in place by the PsyBA for applicants who were in a training pathway at the time of transition to the new rules. This enables these applicants to be eligible for College membership under the previous rules.
As of 1 July, 2013, the transition provision applies only to those applicants who were enrolled in an APAC accredited and College Approved Masters, combined Masters/PhD, Doctorate or Dual Doctorate program in the College-specific area on 30 June 2010 and have completed all program requirements and any necessary period of supervised practice.
