Psychology and Ageing

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a member of either the Psychology & Ageing Interest Group or the Australian Psychological Society to attend PAIG meetings?

No, to attend the meetings membership is not required - the meetings are open to all interested persons.

However, in order to operate as an effective voice for ageing issues within the APS, psychologists with a continuing interest in ageing issues are urged to join more formally. For students especially, the Interest Group provides an avenue to engage with issues at a local and national level.

How do I become a member of the Psychology & Ageing Interest Group?

You are not required to be a member of the APS to be eligible to join the Interest Group. There is a nominal fee for membership of the Interest Group, which varies according to APS membership status (for members of the APS, this fee is in addition to APS membership fees).

For information on APS fees, see APS membership information
For information on how to join PAIG and the associated fees, see the APS Interest Group application form, which can be downloaded here

I would like to be kept informed of upcoming PAIG meetings and events, how do I do this?

Members of PAIG who have included an email list as part of their contact details will automatically receive emails from PAIG at a national level and from their local state-based group (where one exists).
