About Us
Welcome to the Sydney Branch
The Sydney Branch is one of eleven APS Branches in New South Wales. In recent years the Branch has been driven by a group of dedicated committee members:
-
focused on building increased provision of services to its membership;
-
representing constituent interests on broader issues affecting the profession and its clientele within a framework including active lobbying and submission writing to government;
-
providing professional development and continuing education events and activities;
-
sharing information within the Branch through meetings and the State Newsletter, addressing local and wider issues and those between the Branch and other specialised units; and
-
promoting the profession and increasing participation by associate and student members recognising the formal responsibilities of such a large Branch in terms of governance and accountability within the national APS structure.
- promoting community well being through an annual award
- promoting the role of psychological research and its impact on practice and the broader community
