Ms Jayne Crawley
I have been a practising psychologist for approx. 25 years
I come from Sydney and worked with victims of child sexual abuse.
I arrived in Brisbane in 2000 and commenced work with the Australian Federal Police for two years. Whilst working there, I debriefed the Federal Agents who had been deployed in East Timor twice yearly in Darwin. I was also involved in debriefing Federal Agents who had been deployed to the Solomon Islands, Cyprus and those agents who were involved in the investigation following the Bali Bombing in 2002. Additionally, I represented the Australian Federal Police in the provision of a trauma presentations in Brisbane and the Gold Coast for victims and their families of the Bali Bombing and the treatment of victims of this tragedy.
Following my time with the Australian Federal Police, I managed a trauma unit for a major Employee Assistance Program organisation that incorporated both the management of staff and onsite debriefing following a traumatic event.

Dr Kate O'Brien
Dr Kate O’Brien is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with over a decade of experience working as a trauma therapist in non-profit and public mental health settings. She has specialised in working with complex trauma presentations, including among people seeking asylum (and those held in immigration detention), refugee survivors of torture, and adult survivors of prolonged childhood trauma. She is experienced in working cross-culturally, and believes in taking an individualised approach to understanding what each client needs to find their pathway forward.

Kate is currently completing a certification with the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, and has completed the Refugee Trauma Program with Harvard University. She believes in life long learning, and looks forward to learning from her colleagues on the Trauma and Psychology Interest Group; and serving its member group.

She currently works in private practice and is a Board Approved Supervisor.

Secretary

Mrs Theona Bustos
Theona is a Senior Clinical Psychologist who has over twenty years of experience working with children, young people and families that have experienced complex trauma. She is currently working for the Department of Communities and Justice in NSW. She applies a feminist frame to her intervention and assessment, with expertise in the application of these to children and adolescents. Theona also has a small private practice and is a casual academic lecturer at the University of Western Sydney. She is also a Board Approved Supervisor.

Treasurer

Dr Koren Ganas
Dr. Koren Ganas is a registered clinical psychologist and board-approved supervisor. Originally from the USA, she earned her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) and Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology, followed by a post-doctoral Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Illinois at Chicago.

With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Ganas specializes in treating complex developmental trauma and post-traumatic stress. She utilizes evidence-informed treatments tailored to each client’s unique needs, including emotion-focused, somatic, and equine-facilitated modalities.

Dr. Ganas currently serves as a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the University of South Australia.

Dr Gayre Christie
Gayre Is originally from Scotland. He did his Honors degree and Masters degree in Educational Psychology. His PhD is from the University of QLD. The main focus of this doctorate was how we decode emotional messages.

He did his EMDR training some years ago.

He is currently president elect of the Australian Society of Hypnosis.

Gayre works as a senior psychologist with QLD Health and also has a private practice. He is interested in chronic pain and the relationship between chronic pain and early trauma. he is also interested in therapeutic complementarities. That is how, different therapeutic modalities may be used to support and compliment each other, in providing therapy and. ameliorating complex presentations. He is a Board Approved Supervisor
