Chair
Dr Marisa Barnes
Marisa works for Hunter New England Local Health District as the Northern Psychology Professional Lead and as a Psychologist in the Child & Family Allied Health Team at Tamworth Community Health. Marisa has been working in the Public Sector for 15 years. Marisa has also worked in private practice locally. Marisa is the current Chair of the New England Northwest APS Branch, and the Deputy Chair of the NSW Branch Committee. Marisa’s clinical interests are primarily in paediatrics, neurodevelopmental disorders, strengths-based approaches for trauma, and clinical supervision.

Mrs Elisabeth Akioka
I am a Clinical and an Educational & Developmental Psychologist (B Psych (Hons); M.Psych (Ed & Dev); M. Psych (Clin)). I work in Tamworth NSW, and run a private practice that focuses on children, families and psychological assessments.
My employment history includes:
- Manager, Domestic and Family Violence Team, Transforming Aboriginal Outcomes, DCJ
- Service Manager, New Street Hunter New England LHD
- Clinical Coordinator, Violence Abuse and Neglect Services, Northern Hunter New England LHD
- Paediatric Psychologist
Supervision:
- Full supervisor status.
Interests:
- Areas of therapeutic interest – psychometric and developmental assessment, severe emotional and behavioural dysregulation, problematic and harmful sexual behaviours.
- Areas of research interest – parenting, motivation, psychosexual development, k-pop fandoms

Committee Member
Dr Warren Bartik
Dr Warren Bartik is a Clinical Psychologist and Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology with the University of New England (UNE), NSW, Australia. Warren is based in regional NSW at Armidale and has worked in the health and welfare sector primarily with children and young people for over 35 years. Warren completed his PhD with UNE in the area of rural youth suicide bereavement and suicide prevention and postvention remain key research interests. Warren is also especially interested in opportunities for mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention with rural young people and in rural populations in general and also the application of telehealth and e-health for rural populations. Warren continues to maintain a part-time rural private practice that also provides clinical support to NGO’s working with young people, but also the spectrum of private practice clients.
