Welcome to the Riverina Australian Psychological Society (APS) branch, representing approximately 82 APS psychologists in the Riverina area of NSW. Our members work in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, forensics, health, schools, and tertiary settings. Our branch committee also represents these professional domains. The branch was formed early in 2006, with a newly elected executive. It is an exciting time for us, with a lot of ideas and energy for the years to come.
As a branch we offer professional development, collegial support and networking opportunities to APS members of all grades as well as other relevant professionals and students from the Riverina. As a rural community we provide activities that promote psychology and address the professional development needs of a broad range of professionals, students and members of the community. The branch meets approximately every two months. You are warmly welcome to participate (see the calendar of events). Additionally, members are kept up to date by email and via the webpage.
Another major role of the APS Riverina branch is to inform the APS Board of Directors, health professionals and the public about the unique opportunities and challenges facing psychologists in rural Australia today. Similarily, another aspect of our role is to communicate to practitioners, individuals and the local community what the APS offers.
The office bearers listed in these pages welcome comments or suggestions that any members would like to raise within the APS. This includes but is not limited to possible future professional development events. We hope that you find this website useful so that you return to our page for updates and better still, join us at our events throughout the year. We welcome visitors to our events; for more information contact the current chair (see office bearers’ details).
