Student Representative

Mr Brendan Sawtell
I am a dedicated professional with a strong academic foundation in psychology and more than two decades of experience in complex, high-stakes environments where human behaviour, resilience and wellbeing are central. My journey has taken me from frontline policing service into a deep commitment to understanding and supporting people in times of psychological distress, trauma and organisational change. I hold a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Honours) from the University of Adelaide, complemented by earlier qualifications in policing, justice studies and public safety.

As student representative of the APS SA Branch, my next step is to continue this path of professional growth by undertaking a Master of Psychology and moving toward registration as a psychologist. I’m passionate about enhancing the student voice and invite anyone to reach out if I can assist in fostering connections and networking opportunities between students and psychologists.
