The Mackay Branch of the APS has existed formally since 1999, although an interest group in psychology was established in the early 1990s.
The Branch has been gaining momentum and increasing its level of activities so that we now have approximately 75 members of varying grades, including retired members, associates, affiliates and student subscribership. We also have a number of provisional psychologists undertaking internships in the region and we benefit from their vibrance and energy.
We cover a wide geographical area from Emerald in the west to Whitsunday (which includes the Whitsunday island resorts) in the north and our membership is dispersed across these locations.
