The Educational and Developmental Psychologist (EDP), in keeping with its over two decade history, is an official journal of the Australian Psychological Society. It is primarily published for members of the College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists. It publishes peer-reviewed articles and reports that meet criteria of scientific value to educational or developmental psychology, methodological rigor and psychological relevance. The editorial process minimally requires blind (author-masked), double-refereed assessments of manuscripts. Clear communication and standard psychological style of writing and presentation are an important focus of this journal, to ensure academic and professional acceptance and support.
Published manuscripts in the EDP include empirical work that advances the practice base, professional analysis, and reviews of interest to practitioners. Special issues are a feature and proposals for special issues are invited. Case studies of systematic data gathering and approach to treatment, applications of within subject experimental design, formal evaluations of therapy, and other materials of relevance to theory and practice of educational and developmental psychologist’s are welcomed. The journal has an international scope and appeal.
Although published by the Australian Psychological Society, this journal maintains editorial independence; manuscripts are accepted on the basis of their scholarly merit, and they reflect the professional views of their authors. There is no implication or expectation that these views are endorsed by the Australian Psychological Society.
In line with previous practice all submissions are independently blind reviewed by two reviewers and the editor.
The Educational and Developmental Psychologist (EDP) Journal is distributed to all members of the Australian Psychological Society's College of Educational and Development Psychologists. The EDP can be accessed through the APS website after you log in as a member and enter your member Dashboard. Under "Your Membership" you will see subscriptions to "Journals and databases".
