Peace News, August 2006

In the final moments of preparing this newsletter, it seems there are some hopeful developments on some current pressing situations – a ceasefire for the moment in the Israel/Hezbollah conflict, and the failure of the Howard Government’s proposed legislation to move asylum seeking processing offshore.  May these actions lead to further, more solid, just and humane solutions in these areas.  It’s very timely to take the opportunity of the upcoming International Day of Peace to promote non-violent conflict resolution.
